It determines public perception about the status of conventional media (broadcast or print media) content and coverage of the smog issue. This study also finds out the public perception about the status of relevant environmental information regarding smog covered by social media. This study analyzes the effectiveness of sources (print, electronic, social media) for the coverage of smog pollution. To achieve these objectives, the researcher used a mixed-method approach, and thus, the study revealed that social media is more effective for the coverage of the smog issue. Social media is extremely vibrant and has convincing power to change public opinion and government decisions. This study revealed that social media platforms highlight smog issues to monitor air pollution.
